"Financing projects from £1 million to £1 billion"

Asset finance package aids PC production in the UK

Asset finance package aids PC production in the UK

In October, Lombard helped Manchester-based computer systems manufacturer Tranquil PC invest £30,000 to bring part of its production process back to the UK from China.

Thanks to funding from The Royal Bank of Scotland's asset finance arm, Tranquil has been able to install new machinery to produce its aluminium casings, which it had previously outsourced from China.

This asset finance injection means that Tranquil PCs now has a completely self-sufficient production process for its silent running and energy-efficient machines.

Tranquil managing director, David Thompson, said: “This investment makes sound commercial sense. It enhances our manufacturing capabilities and gives us complete control over the production process. It is also very satisfying to be able to bring a manufacturing enterprise back to the UK.”

Funding was arranged between Paul Baxter of RBS and Thomas Brown, a senior relationship manager at Lombard. Mr Brown commented: “Tranquil has a good track record of investing to improve its operations. We are very pleased to provide the financial support needed to support their latest plans.”

Tranquil PC is in its eighth year of trading and its customers include T-Mobile and the BBC. It manufactures energy-efficient and silent PCs that operate on approximately one quarter of the power of a standard computer and which are praised for their small dimensions and excellent build quality.
